Deep in all of our hearts is a desperation. We may put up a brilliant façade, disguising our emptiness, loneliness and fear, but deep down we all struggle. We deceive and distract ourselves, putting trust in relationships, material possessions or other temporary things. But, it is often in moments of extreme loss, pain or hardship that this desperation creeps to the surface and reveals itself. As Pastor Terry reminds us in today’s message, there is a reason for hope. Christ is that reason. He holds power over everything, and even when the worst comes, He is steadfast.
