If anyone might have seemed like a lost cause, it would have been the demon possessed man we find in today’s passage. This man had become a vessel for a legion of demons. That’s 6,000 demons! He was so out of control that even chains couldn’t contain him. Yet, Jesus’ mission was to save him. As Pastor Terry points out in today’s message, this story illustrates the power and compassion of Jesus. He didn’t expect this man to come to Him. He sought this man out and restored him, freeing him from the oppression that was tearing him apart.
