When Abram was called by God, he left the comforts of Ur goodbye. Abram, soon to become Abraham, never again lived in a permanent dwelling place, but made his home in a tent with God. As Pastor Terry describes in today’s lesson, the Christian life will often cause us to make choices to leave some things behind. God wants to bless us in new ways, but unless we’re willing to trust in His leading step by step, we may never enjoy the kind of satisfaction He indents for our lives. The way to follow Christ by faith is to live as pilgrims, passing through a temporary world.
