God used John the Baptist in great and mighty ways. His ministry still affects us today. As Pastor Terry points out in today’s message, John’s main role was to point people towards Christ. He lived a simple, humble life, devoted to preaching the truth no matter how it might affect the quality of his own life. Ultimately he was martyred as a consequence of speaking that truth. Will we be able to look back on our own lives and see the same sacrificial devotion? Are we living lives focused on serving ourselves or on serving Jesus and pointing others towards Him?
