During the 7 years of drought in Egypt, Joseph was in charge and the only one with storages of food. To get food from him he required payment but Egypt was in such disarray, that the people ran out of money and even items to trade. As such, they paid by selling themselves and all their lands to Joseph. Having had to give up everything to him, it’d be easy for us to assume that they despised Joseph. Today, Pastor Terry teaches us that the opposite was true. The people in fact thanked him and continued to put faith in him. Knowing that he was good and had their best interest at heart.
