The enemy is continuously shooting firey darts at us, and the worst thing we can do is pretend we are not being shot at. What kind of soldier is on a battlefield and thinks it's a wise idea to walk around pretending they aren't being shot at? Only a foolish soldier that will eventually get shot thinks in such a way. The Apostle Paul left the elders at Ephesus with the exhortation to be watchful against the enemies devices.
