Our culture has taken the act of dating and perverted it into an often purely physical experience. As Pastor Terry shares in his message, dating today should be much more God-centered. Just as it is described in Song of Solomon, it is a time to get to know another person’s personality, characteristics, and heart. These are the concepts that will help a person develop a perspective on whether to pursue marriage with someone. If dating is based upon physical attractiveness, the other person’s character often gets lost in the midst of it and the relationship will be shallow and baseless.
