Man has a sinful tendency to put himself in the place of God. We see this clearly in nearly every world religion. They may have a godhead or figure they assign godlike status, but ultimately those beings were devised by the minds of men, and our relationship to them is almost entirely based on how we perform. As Pastor Terry will point out in today’s message, this is a beautiful, unique trait of Christianity. Our relationship to God isn’t based on what we do but solely on what He already did for us through Jesus.
