The relay race in the Olympics involves several people, in order to get to the finish line. With running, each person does their part and passes the baton to the next one, expecting them to finish the race well. With swimming, you each have a particular stroke you’re assigned, but it requires each teammate to get a fast time and to hit the wall first before your opponents.
