When we hear the word “obedience” it usually does not make us want to listen any further. It is not in our nature to want to submit to any authority but our own. Our innate selfishness causes us to cringe at the thought of having to allow someone else to control our lives, even if that Someone is the Lord. What does it mean to obey? How am I supposed to be obedient and still have the freedom in Christ that scripture promises? What will enable me to obey?
