The story of the Good Samaritan offers a harsh contrast to the religious elites that Jesus encountered and was routinely ridiculed by. As Pastor Terry will explain in today’s message, this story would have been shocking to the ears of its hearers. Just putting the word “good” next to “Samaritan” would have been scandalous enough, let alone making the Samaritan the hero who reflected God’s love and compassion better than even the Jewish priest or the Levite, who were experts in the Law.
