Even before Jesus came in the flesh, there were lies about who He would be. This is part of why so many didn’t recognize Him as the Son of God in the first place. They wanted a political, military hero who would free Israel from Roman rule and re-establish it as an independent nation. The deception about Jesus continues to this day, as Pastor Terry will point out. Jesus did come to bring freedom, but it was from a much greater oppressor than any dictator or tyrant humanity has produced.
