Zechariah 9:9-13, John 12; 12-16
Even though the first Palm Sunday happened in New Testament times, it was predicted in the Old Testament and later recognized as a fulfillment of prophecy. Zechariah the prophet predicted a King humbly arriving to Jerusalem on a donkey; he also predicted that King would bring freedom and hope by a blood covenant and by rescuing prisoners back to safety.
