Ezekiel 2-3
This passage from Ezekiel is truly striking! It shows how he got his commission from God, and what his calling as a prophet was all about. God showed Ezekiel that he would have to be bold and unflinching as he told people bad news they wouldn't like. But he also showed him that the Word of God is sweet - even when it is hard to hear - and that he sometimes hurts us in order to heal us. He also learned he was called to warn others. God lovingly sends his Word to rebellious and hard-hearted people; a believer's calling is to warn with clarity and compassion!
