Description

Hey there, I'm Moira Cleary and I'm excited to bring to the Surviving, the Waiting Room Podcast. My goal is to focus on you and your needs as you navigate life while raising a child with challenging needs.

If you're listening after the official launch, then thanks for tuning in, and be sure to check out the rest of the episodes. If you're hearing this before the official launch, be sure to subscribe so that, you're the first to know when the episodes begin to drop, I'm pretty excited about it. So I hope you do.

You might be a single stay at home homeschooling or a working mom. Whatever the case is, I'm here to remind you that you matter and deserve more out of life.

In case, you don't know me. I'm a practical realist, Professionally Certified Coach, mindfulness practitioner, and the mom of two beautiful, smart, funny teenagers who have over 14 chronic often debilitating invisible conditions. And if you're curious, I'm an INFP and an Enneagram 9

This show is for moms raising kids with chronic illnesses and needs who find themselves holding off from doing things, even question themselves. And maybe if you're like me, you felt like all of a sudden your whole life has become one big waiting room.

I want you to remember that you matter as much as your children do and that we can get through this together.

For the last three years, I've thought about launching this podcast. There are so many amazing podcasts of strength and encouragement, triumph out there. All within the special needs community. All created to remind us that we're not alone. And inspire us to hold on.

But I needed help understanding what to do. How I could make changes in my own life to get there. What did I need to change to get to that point?

So when I got the help and I became healthy, it dawned on me. That as a coach and a mindfulness practitioner, I was actually in a unique position to help other moms find their strengths so that they could shut for themselves and their families the way they want to. And not just with the leftovers.

In this show, we'll be covering areas like mindset shifts, practical self-care boundaries. Organizing and a whole lot more. I'll do my best to keep the information short and to the point, which means mainly solo episodes. And perhaps some short interviews scattered throughout the year.

I fully believe that we all need help remembering that we're women first and mom's second. The stronger we become as women, the stronger we become as moms. Through this podcast. My hope is that you'll begin to move out of the waiting room of life. And begin to feel like yourself again.
