The Habit Loop has completely changed the way that I perform and even acknowledge habits in my life. 

 

It's very simple: Cue > Craving > Response > Reward 

 

It's that simple. One example of this that James Clear gives in his book Atomic Habits is how we walk into a dark room (Cue). We want the dark room to not be dark as we continue into it (Craving). To remedy this, we turn on the light (Response). We get to walk into a room that is full of light instead of tripping over something in the dark (Reward). 

 

In today's episode, I am going to go into fuller detail so that we understand how vital this loop is in our lives.
