Johnny Thompson is an El Paso legend. He grew up in the radio industry starting from age 13 to most of his life. His early radio deejaying career started at KINT Radio in El Paso where he and several other teenage deejays were basically running the station. They did it well! As time marched on he went into tv and management. Johnny also became a local El Paso drummer playing with various groups much into his adult life. His last major drumming stint was with the legendary Long John Hunter - where Johnny fine tuned his shuffle/blues skills for over 5 years as Hunter’s backing drummer at the local Kings-X night club. Twenty five years ago - in 1996, Johnny left El Paso for Florida where he decided to start a new life. He has officially graduated from an El Paso desert rat to a Florida beach bum and loving every minute of it. He’s now working in realestate and v.p. in charge of watching beautiful scenery on the beach - if you catch my drift……
