Description

For those faced with the decision to use an egg donor, sperm donor, or a surrogate it can feel impossible to know how to navigate the journey.

How do you protect yourself? How do you protect the surrogate? How do you protect the eventual child? There is SO much to consider.

In this week's episode of the FU Project podcast, I talk to Rijon Charne. Rijon is a fertility attorney and the founder/owner of Sunray Fertility Law based in Los Angeles, California. Having been born in South Africa, Rijon thoroughly enjoys working with international clients, clinics, and agencies and is well-versed in American and International law.

Shortly after graduating from law school, Rijon was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. As a precautionary measure, she chose to undergo fertility treatments before undergoing chemotherapy. This life-changing experience introduced her to the field of fertility law and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). She understands first-hand how stressful life can be for an individual or a couple who wants to have a family of their own. Her personal experience is why she takes pride in guiding parents through this intricate legal process. She handles all aspects of fertility law, including egg donation, sperm donation, embryo donation as well as the complicated area of surrogacy law, on behalf of intended parents, donors, and surrogates. Rijon also works as a consultant to many clinics, physicians, and fertility companies around the world.
