Richard Boyatzis is one of the world's most influential researchers in leadership, change, and emotional intelligence. He is a professor at Case Western Reserve University, among the most cited scholars in his field, and currently out with his comprehensive book The Science of Change (2024).

Boyatzis states that feedback and goals are overrated. Feedback is useful when the recipient genuinely asks for it — otherwise, you can safely leave it. And goals? About as effective as New Year's resolutions.
