If you liked The Nun, you will like this movie. There is no sarcasm, no silliness, and no fake scares in this film. All serious, nasty horror, exactly what I was hoping for. The actors were great, the atmosphere and story were good, and the movie was very scary (with a really good scare). The pacing was great for a two hour movie. Compared to The Conjuring, which I give a 10 star rating, this movie is a 10 star.
In my opinion, this is the best horror movie of 2023 so far. Evil Dead was just a rehash of old ideas with a worse cast. Demeter had some of the worst CGI effects I have seen in recent memory. Insidious 3 was lame and creepy. The Exorcist of the Popes could have been great, but it was cliched and predictable. The Exorcist IV has not come out yet, so this is the best horror movie so far.
