In April 2018, tragedy struck the McKay household. Their youngest child (and only daughter) was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 9. Kate and her mom, Trish, decided to turn the negative into something positive in the whirlwind of unknowns. That’s how Kate the Great’s Big Adventure came to be.
This Great Big Adventure is one of heartbreak, grief, inspiration, and kindness. It shows that with all the negative in the world, a community can make it brighter.
