Hello. This is Pat Willie, the founder, and CEO of the not-for-profit ministry, The Gathering. When women gather, when women worship. Thanks for joining us for this podcast, the two-minute prayer. I believe that prayer is essential. It is life-giving and life-sustaining, and it only takes just a minute to pray.
This is prayer number six in a series of forgiveness.
Father God, we thank you that because you loved us, we are able to love others. It is your power and your spirit that are in us. To cause us to be able to love even our offenders in the name of Jesus.
For your word says that love covers a multitude of thoughts and sins. So God let us wrap ourselves in love. When it comes to us, let us be an example of what true love, godly love really looks like. Let it be operational in our life. Glory be to God. So that we may put aside our grudges and old hurts and old pains and things we have carried throughout our lives. We put that aside and we asked that those voids in our lives will be filled with your love. In order that we may be able to love others as you have loved us. Hmm.
Well, this is the greatest command. But we love the Lord, our God, with all of our heart, mind, soul, body, and strength. And we love our neighbors as ourselves. To do unto others, as we would have them do unto us.
And God, as you have treated us with love and compassion. You have never held on to any of our sins. We let go of the sins of others and we replace them with forgiveness and love. In Jesus' name..
Give us the strength to rise above and respond in love. In Jesus' name. We pray. Amen.
