Today, learn simple steps to say it right and get what you want!  

Does this sound familiar?  "My partner just doesn't care about me." "They never listen to me!" OR, "I can't seem to explain it right."

Do you have to fight for what you want? Do you need to explain it over and over and then lie a little, scoot around the truth or just BULLY your way to what you want?

We have all heard the words, paraphrasing, reflective listening, and backtracking.  Actually, they are all similar, almost the same thing. In this podcast, you will totally learn how to listen AND talk for true communication with your partner! It is actually quite simple.

I have a few power-example stories that really explain how this works. The stories start off explaining getting into a fight that might be headed for a split. Then I show you how to shift your words and attitude a tiny bit to FIX it, and turn it around. I tell a story about a couple fighting and then shifting to a reasonable conversation about a fence and another story about getting a dog or not. (I've had to use the dog story, skills, a few times in my personal life. LOL)

I go over the steps of a wonderful chat between two opposing opinions. And it all turns out well. Yay!

(Disclaimer. I am a powerful woman and not necessarily a feminist. But I stand for equalit….. Listening to this recording, I may have made the women sound whinny and the men an jerk, but understand these are examples... men can nag and women can be aggressive in other stories. Just always working on being PC.)

Steps:

1. Listening-- We listen to process and discover, not to report!!
2. Wait--When listening and paraphrasing, wait for a full body YES from the other person
3. Then take turns-- The second person now talks.
4. Repeat--Keep going back and forth, until you find the core of what they are saying. Finding what they are really, really, really saying. Get Two full body YES'

Remember, when they are talking SHUT UP and really listen!

After you both know what each other really, really wants, now, and only now, can you problem solve!!

Isn't it nice to know that there are tangible skills that you can use to never fight again? And both get what you want?
