This spoken word piece was read originally at "United for Compassion" on November 22, 2016 in San Francisco's Japantown. It was a community gathering along with educators, lawyers, politicians, artists, activists, united with the Muslim community to stand up against the growing acts of racism and xenophobia in our country.
A few lines from this piece is seeing the light of day on the big screen in Abby Ginzberg and Ken Schneider's "And Then They Came For Us," now playing throughout the US.
