"Chains and Black Exhaust" is probably the best funk rock compilation of all time. Released in 2002 without a track list or any artist credits and boasting only a picture of an old biker bar in Chicago, it quickly became a topic of curiosity and was immediately sought after by collectors and dj's alike. It was compiled by the crew at Memphix Records, who dug deep into the 45 vault and came up with some really heavy funk rock grooves from the 1970's Black Rock music scene. And it's full of enough reverb and fuzztone to make your head spin.
