As event organisers we are experience providers, and while there is a lot of talk about the importance of 'engaging experiences', there is not a lot of guidance on how to create and nurture them.
This Shows guests are Bob Rossman and Mat Duerden, two of the worlds leading experts in the growing world of 'Experience Design', and as a passionate advocate for this approach in our work, I was particularly excited to have them on the show (see if you can spot it!).
As world-leading experts in 'XD' they recently co-authored a brilliant book 'Designing Experiences', rated in the Top 3 of its type and an essential resource for event designers.
In this show, we unpack the mindsets and tools with which I think you will find valuable to apply in your work.
We cover off the basics, what is 'Experience Design' and why we think it is valuable for event designers. We also learn what makes a great experience in the 'Experience Economy', how to intentionally orchestrating experiences via micro and macro moments, with different 'Experience Type's, 'the 'Experiencescapes' and the fundamental elements, the building blocks of experiences, including the 'Touchpoint template'.
We really go wide and deep into experiences, including how to achieve a higher level of outcomes from providing higher-level experiences.
There is so much to take away from this show, plenty of rich learning's and sources of meaningful information.
We hope you enjoy the show, and please do check out the excellent book 'Designing Experiences' – and if you need any help designing your experiences, please do let us know at andrewoloughlin.com
