Use the story rubric at https://valerieihsan.com . It's great for objectively identifying areas that need development and using a shared vocabulary with your critique partners.
Receiving feedback requires open mind, growth mindset, willingness to hear the feedback, and being specific about the kind of feedback you want/need.
Giving feedback requires being constructive and using vocabulary that specifies the area that needs development. Saying, "I just didn't get it" isn't helpful, and could actually be harmful.
