Today the SibNerds are talking about the Prologue – Chapter 3!
A rare instance of the second-person POV! And it’s done so well! It’s visceral and raw and it keeps the reader close. We’re intrigued and invested! The world building in this first section is impressive—and it didn’t leave Anna nearly as lost as she normally is, which could be because of the second-person POV.
In a lot of ways this appears to be a story about grief. Do you think Essun is right to belief her husband killed their son? Do you think Damaya is safe with Schaffa? How will Essun and Damaya’s paths cross?
