Happy New Year everyone! It's January 2nd when this episode goes live. And with all the New Years resolutions, I feel like this episode is definitely applicable.
This week I had a chat with Bryan Kao. He's a member of the US National Wushu Team. Now, I have a background of a couple of decades in martial arts, so for those who don't know Wushu is what many people know as Kung Fu.
In this episode, we talk about how he knew that he was very passionate and excited by martial arts growing up, but wasn't allowed to practice- and what he learned from that. We talk about how he went from a potentially career-ending injury to getting onto the US National Team, and being invited to Iran to serve as a US ambassador in an international Wushu competition.
Now he continues practicing and competing, and also teaches! So if you're in the Columbus, Ohio area and have an interest in martial arts, check out The Ohio Wushu Academy, it's awesome- I've been there a couple times.
Do the work, especially when you don't want to. You can't improve by stating what you want to do, and taking no action. You can start with a declaration, but you have to take the according actions to make it happen.
Set goals, be brave! Take actions, no matter how small, to get to your dreams. Believe that you can, and then GO!
As well, give Bryan a shout-out on Facebook. If you have any questions about martial arts or wushu, feel free to reach out to him through there, or through the Ohio Wushu Academy website. You can schedule a FREE trial class there as well.
