This week we get to hear my conversation with Dr. Laura Miranda. I will say this about this episode, she is on fire. If you don't follow her on social media, go find her @drlauramiranda on Facebook and Instagram. Her tagline, "Do you see the potential?" Is very on point.
I feel like this should have been more apparent to me growing up, but the more I speak to fitness professionals, the more I realize that it's about the mindset, not the physical activities that you're doing. The transformations that happen always go from the inside out.
When I approached Dr. Miranda for this episode, I wasn't really sure what to expect. She was a doctor of physical therapy. However, I also found her videos of her workouts in public. There's a video linked in the show notes of her working out in a blizzard in the dead of winter. Who does that? So of course, I had to have her on the show.
Don't wait until your life is exploding before you start trying to live the life you want. Build the skills that you need when life is good, so that when life isn't so good, you have the tools ready to help you navigate through it. We don't want to go about life consistently running in crisis-mode.
One of the consistent keys I've heard for building a powerful mindset is to believe in yourself. Training is a metaphor for life, that is at the core of the Pursuit program. Contact Dr. Laura for more information on that. You don't need a gym and fancy equipment to reach your fitness goals. Look at the world around you, and see the potential.
Of course, actually moving yourself to take that action starts in the mind. Invest in yourself. Find a coach or a mentor who has the life that you want to live, and take the actions that they've taken to get what they have.
Ask yourself who you want to become. The more you ask that question, the clearer your vision will become. As your vision of who you want becomes clearer, the steps that you need to take will begin to open themselves up to you. I've said this a bunch of times, many of the guests on the show have said it. Of course it's easier said than done, but it's a first step! Every great journey begins with a single step.
