This week we listen to a conversation I had with Christine Beckman, a celebrated Commercial Real Estate Broker.
She began her career working in Information Technology, a field not much related to real estate. While working in that field she was exposed to the world of real estate and decided to give it a try.
By quitting her job and going all in.
You've got to listen to her story. It's a great example of how focus and determination can go a long way in helping us to reach our goals.
When I asked her what helped her make that leap into uncertainty (career-wise at least), she said that we just need to be determined, and to believe in ourselves.
It's advice that is often repeated and probably seldom understood.
"Believe in yourself."
The phrase is easy to say, but in practice is a bit more difficult. Her follow up with that is to remain focused and determined. Don't get side-tracked with the undetermined-future or be driven by your past. Live in the present, focus on what you have and what you can do, and move forward!
