In this episode we discuss attention and the way it functions and is valued in contemporary capitalist society. We draw a distinction between 'lantern' and 'spotlight' attention and try to account for the relationship between the two. Further, we ask whether our value of attention is always mediated by social interpretation, or whether the ontology of attention evidences its own meaning?
