Being a leader is not for the faint of heart. Itโs easier to take the path of least resistance. Itโs easier to tolerate bad behavior than it is to address it. However, great leaders are less concerned with their own discomfort of having a hard conversation than they are about the overarching direction, goals, and needs of the organization. Todayโs show is about the not-so-glamorous side of leadership because in the end, leadership is about behavior not about position and people will listen to what you say but they will believe what you do!

๐ Itโs not unkind to be clear and you donโt have to be ugly to be candid.
๐ Itโs hard to act in a way that aligns with your words.
๐ Leaders do the hard things. Leaders can stand on their values and the values of the organization in which they are leading.

Think about the things that youโre not doing because theyโre hard. What is that difficult conversation that youโre refusing to have because itโs hard and you donโt want to hurt somebodyโs feelings?
Is there a way that you can reframe that difficult conversation to be a conversation that needs to be had for the good of the person and the good of your department, organization, or business?
What is that behavior thatโs been exhibited that youโre not changing because itโs hard to do so?
Find that behavior and do something today thatโs different.
