Today's podcast is all about Marcia Kimpton. Born in the windy city of Chicago, Marcia Kimpton knew from an early age that she was destined to tell stories. As a love for the arts was deeply engrained in her upbringing. Her profound love of movies ignited her fascination for storytelling and its unique ability to affect an audience. She knew she had found her calling, and that somehow, she would be a part of that world.In 1994 Marcia began her TV career as an entertainment reporter on KTVU-FOX and in 1998 Marcia launched her first late night talk show which ran for 14 weeks. Fusing her love for travel and filmmaking, Marcia began creating projects that were filmed all over the world. Her first film BARDO BLUES on Amazon, which she filmed in Thailand. She spoke further about the film and the topic of mental illness, as well as her unique journey in Hollywood in her book, Escaping the Hollywood Bardo. Marcia most recently launched an app combining her two greatest loves. Kimpton Travels and Films not only provides insight from more than 40+ countries that Marcia has traveled to but also lists her top 100 films for those who love to stumble upon hidden or forgotten cinematic independent gems.
