The Scarlet Spotlight is happy to be joined by former Rutgers linebacker Steve Longa for Episode 48 of the podcast. The current Detroit Lions player discussed his upbringing in Cameroon, moving with his family to New Jersey at age 12 and taking up football in high school. Longa mentions his recruitment during Greg Schiano's departure from RU in 2012, some big wins during his time in Piscataway and the reasons why he declared early for the NFL Draft in 2016. He notes the difficulties of being an undrafted free agent, dealing with injuries and his father's death and what his career might look like after football.
