We are excited to share this discussion that I had with a true world-leading expert in all aspects of sport – and a pioneer in sport experience design - Professor Daniel Funk.
Daniel is a prodigious professor, based at Temple University in the USA, he has published over 130 academic papers, and his 4 books have been essential reading for many students and practitioners across our industry.
So much knowledge has been shared and applied that I suspect it is likely Daniel's research has featured in your sports management education, or the findings he has been involved with may have influenced the work you are involved with in some way. And this show is a great chance to explore even more deeply the role and the value that 'the experience' plays in sport – for the fans, for the active participants, and for us as providers.
We all know how influential experiences can be in sport, and the purpose of this show is to understand how we can all provide even more influential experiences – speaking with the world-leading advisors, researchers and thought leaders - giving you some insights to make great decisions, and to help you amplify the value of your work.
So we do hope this discussion provides you with some meaningful information to help you design or redesign your fan and participants experiences, so that they keep signing up and showing up again, and again.
