In part two of our three-part introduction series, Lindsay Reynolds, a Penn State grad, former Disney intern, communications guru and now StandoutX's Director of Engagement joins me and shares her journey. In her journey from being the first college graduate in her family to facilitating some of the largest Disney conferences, Lindsay has learned a thing or two about being a Standout.
Today, we examine some of these lessons, including putting in the hard work on the front end and how that prepares you to be tapped on the shoulder later on. We cover the importance of understanding your value and purpose as a person and how that is more important than what you do. We discuss the different kinds of jobs you will encounter and how to know the difference. Lastly, one of the biggest lessons we cover is that standing out requires sacrifice; you have to show up ready every day.
In parting, Lindsay has some invaluable advice: Know your own personal mission and purpose. Network so you can make a difference in someone else's life. It's not about who you know, but who knows you. Lastly, don't be afraid to fail. Be confident in your ability to fail. Standing Out is not a destination; it is a journey.
Rise. Shine. Impact. You have a legacy to leave.
