I've had a successful law firm for a long time, and part of the reason for that is I know how to sign up clients (by the way, this isn't a bad thing - I am providing a service people want, and we are very good at what we do).
Here are three tips I incorporate into my law firm to sign up new client every day:
1. Don't be so technical - find out what the people want and give it to them.
2. Ask "why" at least twice.
3. Stop taking meetings with people you know you can't help.
