Our conversation today gave us details for Blandy's 32nd Annual Garden Fair Weekend. Joining the chat was Stephanie Swaim, Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator and Carrie Whitacre, Assistant Curator of Herbaceous Gardens both from the State Arboretum of Virginia at Blandy Experimental Farm.
Blandy's Garden Fair happens every Mother's Day weekend and will be back at the Clarke County Fairgrounds for 2022. Stephanie told us the goal is to return to the Blandy grounds in 2023.
The event will feature a tremendous selection of native plants, annuals, perennials, herbs, trees, shrubs, garden tools, decor, and related items. Carrie gave us some insight into the growing process as well as the vendor process each year. She told us about the food vendors, plant vendors, garden vendors and more that will be in attendance over the 3-day event.
Stephanie reminded us that members of FOSA (Friends of State Arboretum) can come on Friday night for a free preview/shopping experience. The event opens to the public on Saturday, May 7 & Sunday, May 8 from 9am - 4pm.
Advanced tickets can be purchased for $10 per car (includes parking.) A ticket is good for both days. Keep a record of your receipt to show at the gate when you arrive at the Clarke County Fairgrounds. After May 5 at midnight, tickets increase to $15 when purchased online or at the gate.
The event is held rain or shine.
