Our conversation for The Valley Business Today welcomed back Shenandoah Community Capital Fund to talk about their newest cohort and how they're making changes to their organization to serve more entrepreneurs/small business in more ways.
Joining me for the conversation was Ryan Hall & Katie Overfield-Zook, entrepreneur ecosystem builders with Shenandoah Community Capital Fund.
Ryan gave us a quick overview of the organization and talked about a few of the changes they're making which include his job duties. The Shenandoah Community Capital Fund (SCCF) is 501(c)3 nonprofit entrepreneurial support organization serving the entire Shenandoah Valley. Over the past 14 years the organization has expanded and innovated alongside the region's entrepreneurs to become one of the lead conveners in the region's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
SCCF also offers small business loans ranging from $1,000 to $50,000. Loan funds can be used to fund a variety of projects including equipment, inventory, and working capital expenses. They can also be used to refinance and consolidate existing business debt at a lower interest rate.
Katie gave details for their latest S2V cohort currently accepting applications. She explained the application process, what types of industries are eligible for this round and talked about all the benefits of participation in the virtual program. Startup Shenandoah Valley enables entrepreneurs to take their business to the next level. Learn to address the riskiest parts of your business model with flexible one-on-one coaching during S2V's 8-week sprint. Gain valuable insight from their mentorship program and continue the learning and support by joining a diverse community of entrepreneurs and resource providers through their alumni network and ongoing programming. S2V is offered to participants at no charge and without equity requirements. The program will begin on September 5, 2022 and run through October 27, 2022. Get more details by clicking here.
As we wrapped up our chat, the pair gave me details for the first annual Entrepreneurship Summit happening September 12-13, 2022 at the Staunton Innovation Hub. Shenandoah Community Capital Fund is inviting entrepreneurs from across the Shenandoah Valley to gather in Staunton, Virginia for two days of networking, learning, inspiration, and workshopping.
