We headed to Jim Barnett Park for a conversation with Chris Konyar, Director of Winchester Parks & Recreation to talk indoor aquatics, toddler programs, and holiday activities.
Chris filled us in on all the activities available for indoor aquatics at the pool in Jim Barnett Park. We talked about it being the only indoor facility in our community and the role it plays keeping kids, teens, and adults in the water no matter the weather outdoors. He explained the year-round need for lifeguards and talked about the training they provide. He encouraged listeners to visit their website for more information or to apply.
He gave details for several other programs including the PB&J Club, pickleball, youth basketball, and more. Plus he talked about memberships as an affordable way to enjoy all of P&R programs & amenities.
Finally, we discussed the Christmas Parade happening on Monday, November 28, 2022, in Old Town Winchester. Applications are currently being accepted to participate in the parade.
