Get A New Perspective
I live in the Boston Area and almost my entire family lives in the Midwest and I get lonely for my family.
I wanted to have my mom a little bit closer to me for a while this year so I rented an AirBnb and had her come out to Boston so she could spend some time with me.
And I wanted everything to be perfect when she got there so I went in and stocked the fridge, I got new sheets and pillows for the bed, and when she came in, I wanted to make sure that she knows how everything works in the apartment and we figured everything out except for the TV remote.
The AirBnb guy came by and he showed us how to navigate the remotes and he clicks something that took him to a screen that he couldn't get out of. It wasn't just mom and me who were having difficulties. The Airbnb guy was also like, "Uh oh. I can't get out of this screen."
He then remembered that he wanted to see the font better and the screen was zoomed in. So he zoomed the screen out and got out of that page.
So many of us do that in our lives and in our businesses.
We are so focused on what's immediately in front of us and we can only see what we think are limited options. Neither of which is what we really want to do.
And were obstructing this whole abundance that's available to use because were so hyper-focused. And sometimes it's because we just don't have the awareness yet.
That's why coaching is so important to have someone who has an outside perspective to help you see a different possibility.
