Brazilian forró from the roots to the popular hits
Arrasta Pest is a pun with the name of the popular rhythm of “arrasta pé” and the name of the city where the band was born: Budapest. Found by Raphael, Lucas and former percussionist Vinicius, the trio quickly grew into a 6-members band, bringing in more experienced musicians and developing its own identity in Budapest’s live music scene. With recurring gigs at venues like Ellato and Mixat, Arrasta Pest quickly gathered its loyal audience, mainly of Brazilian expats and forró music enthusiasts from all cultures and nationalities. Mixing classics from master “Luiz Gonzaga” with less-known originals from “Os 3 do Nordeste”, crossing by mainstream artists like “Falamansa” and “Circuladô de Fulô”, Arrasta Pest wants to praise the best that forró music has to offer and spread the joy of this beautiful genre while endorsing the Brazilian forró culture that has already fascinated thousands across Europe.
