Tonight's special rewind is the reissue of my 2016 Halloween Special ... Long ago removed from my on line archives. Now heard for the first time in three years! Here's the details:
Another Halloween is fast approaching so on today’s TRANSMUSIC AIRWAVES (#187) I’ll play songs from a multitude of artists that could be incorporated into many a celebration during this yearly festival, but unlike the forthcoming election, I’ll show more restraint and let the music speak for itself.
You’ll hear plenty of relatable songs including a composition from Henry Mancini’s “Experiment in Terror” soundtrack, Frank Zappa’s “Goblin Girl,” Black Sabbath’s “Electric Funeral,” and a host of other pieces that hit the proverbial “spot” including selections from Robert Wyatt, David Bowie, John Zorn, RL Burnside, Pere Ubu, Audience, Tom Waits, and Brand X. There’s even NEW offerings from Nels Cline, Xiu Xiu, Devendra Banhart, Lucinda Williams, and Gong (from their “Rejoice! I’m Dead!” album) all which fit perfectly into this week’s overriding themes.
