Today was Part 2 of the message "All Hands on Deck! The Power of Intercession" was taken from 1 Timothy 2:1-4, Nehemiah 1:5-10; Exodus 20:6; 1 Peter 3:12; 1 Peter 4b-7.
This message is a rallying cry for believers to engage in the ministry of intercession, especially in these crucial times. Because of our position as believers, we have an audience and ready access to the Heavenly Father, through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. 1 Peter 3:12. God is focused on you, waiting to hear your intercessions!
Intercession allows us to pray the heart of God. Intercession enables us to thwart the plans of the enemy. Intercession provides a means by which we can live a quiet and peaceable life. Intercession is a way of loving others. Intercession ushers in radical change. Intercession can cause God to touch the hearts of kings and those in authority to do the right thing. Intercession is essential.
Especially during these times of natural disasters, racial injustices, human trafficking, sexual abuse, wars, terrorism, and a host of other issues, intercession is essential. Just as one man's intercession (e.g. Hezekiah) ushered in the power of God to save a nation, so our intercessions can bring about real, demonstrative change. There is so much more to this teaching.
