In this teaching we looked at 1 Peter 1:18-25 and addressed the fact that when we approach scripture and messages we do so against a backdrop, a canvas, a way of thinking, a context, based the numerous things we learned, heard, and received during our lifetime. That backdrop informs our thinking - it affects our soul. It is important to recognize and address the backdrop against which we are approaching the Word of God so we can partake of the fulness of the redemption Jesus Christ secured for us. Learn how your soul -- your mind, will, and emotions -- can be purified so that you can receive God's Word fully!
