It is interesting how the first Christmas carol, sung by the heavenly host upon the occasion of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ proclaimed, "On earth, peace, goodwill towards men." Luke 2:14. This proclamation resounded against a backdrop of political factions, cultural differences and unrest, Roman occupation, uncertainty, and violence. The advent of the God of Peace has made it possible for us to know and abide in the Peace of God. This is a peace that many will not understand or begin to comprehend.
