Salvatore Cassano, NYC's 32nd Fire Commissioner held every rank in the department, beginning as a firefighter in 1969. After September 11, Mr. Cassano was named Chief of Operations, and in 2009, he was appointed Fire Commissioner by Mayor Bloomberg.
