Today our guest is Métis author, intellectual, and educator Chelsea Vowel. Chelsea is a graduate student at the University of Alberta and recently published, through local Winnipeg publisher Portage and Main Press, an incredibly important book — Indigenous Writes: A Guide to First Nations, Métis and Inuit Issues in Canada. The book is a one-stop-shop for correcting misconceptions about Indigenous peoples, topics, and issues. We talk about the nuts and bolts of the text, creative choices, stylizations, and editorial contributions. Chelsea is an immensely respected voice in the Indigenous Intellectual community, check out her blog âpihtawikosisân.
