On Thursday and Friday, Jun. 1 – 2, the Canadian Centre for Human Rights Research in partnership with the CREATE H20 Program hosted the 4th Annual CREATE H20 First Nation Water Research Conference in the Moot Court Room of the Robson Law Building to discuss the state of water safety and water security in First Nation communities across Manitoba and Canada. The organizing committee of the conference invited two leading researchers in FN Water Safety from USaskatchewan to deliver Keynote Addresses: Dr. Priscilla Settee (Native Studies) and Dr. Lalita Bhardawaj (Public Health). Day 1 was Moderated by Graduate Student, Taylor Moriseau, who invited Dr. Setee to deliver her address entitled: “Water: Our First Relative, Our First Responsibility”.
